CeCe Winans Makes Waiting Sound Active
“Come Jesus Come” holds one request so steadily that restraint becomes the drama.
The piano leaves more air than most Gospel ballads tolerate. Winans uses it. Her low phrases arrive almost conversationally, then widen without turning the song into a vocal showcase.
The record understands that longing is not solved by a bigger final chorus. It closes with the prayer intact — unresolved, reverent and unusually direct.
