About

We write about the music the church is actually singing.

Glory & Sound covers Christian music the way any serious music publication covers its subject: by listening closely, describing accurately, and resisting the urge to inflate. Worship, gospel, Christian pop, hip-hop and the rooms in between.

Most coverage of this music arrives in two modes — promotional or dismissive. We're trying for a third: observational. What is this arrangement doing? Why does this melody travel through a congregation while a better-written one doesn't? What does it cost to sing a line like that every night for a year?

We do not invent quotes. Nothing on this site is presented as an interview unless it was one. When we describe an artist's intent, we're reading the record, and we say so. Where a claim comes from a public statement or a credited release, we frame it that way.

Every song we write about links to the official release on Spotify. We don't host audio, and we aren't affiliated with the artists or labels we cover.

What we publish

Features and profiles; Behind the Song, which takes one record apart; The Testimony, on the lives behind the writing; New & Noteworthy for arrivals; Legacy for the catalogue; and The Sunday Edition, five songs and a short read, every Sunday morning.
