Enumeration is an old devotional habit and a terrible pop device. Lists do not build tension.

The song solves that by making the counting itself rhythmic. The phrasing accumulates rather than escalates, and the arrangement stays bright enough that the accumulation reads as momentum.

Nothing about the performance is trying to prove anything. That is the correct choice: a gratitude song sung with too much technique starts to sound like a pitch.

Across the song, the trick is that it never adds a complication. Most writers would introduce a shadow in verse two. This one holds its position, and the refusal is what makes it memorable.
