Choir Arrangement Is an Argument About Community
Who carries the melody, who answers and who gets heard are musical decisions with social meaning.

Every choir arrangement distributes responsibility. One section states the phrase, another supports it, and the full group decides when agreement should sound like unison and when it should sound like harmony.
The lead is meaningful because the group remains audible around it. Call-and-response makes authority temporary: one voice steps forward, then returns the song to the people who gave it weight.
That structure is more than a sound. It is a model of shared witness written directly into the parts.
