The Quiet Power of a Benediction Song
Not every closing song needs to peak. Some are meant to send the room out gently.

A set often ends by trying to become unforgettable. The lights widen, the final chorus repeats and the arrangement behaves as if departure requires a climax.
A benediction song has another job. It lowers the room's pulse, offers language that can travel beyond the building and leaves enough quiet for the last words to remain intact.
The measure of the song is not the applause at its finish. It is whether the listener is still carrying the sentence on the way home.
